To be an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), you will need to hold a degree accredited by us. (Unless you complete Dietetic Skills Recognition.)
We only accredit degrees that meet the highest education standards. We don't accredit all courses and degrees related to human nutrition. Many nutrition courses are not accredited.
You need to complete a dietetics program accredited by Dietitians Australia to:
- become a member of Dietitians Australia
- join our Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program.
Students enrolled in an accredited course can become student members of Dietitians Australia.
On this page, you'll find a full list of accredited dietetic education programs.
We work with Australian universities to ensure a high standard of education. Accredited dietetics programs must cover all areas of the National Competency Standards.
All accredited programs have regular reviews.
Students enrolled in an accredited course can become a student member of Dietitians Australia. Students who have completed an accredited course can apply for full membership and join the APD program.
Learn about our accreditation process.
If you're a dietitian with an overseas qualification, you can apply to go through our Dietetic Skills Recognition (DSR) process.
If you are successful, you can join our APD program and become a member with qualifications that are recognised in Australia.
