NDIS Annual Pricing Review - Update for members 📜

Yesterday’s NDIA pricing decision presents serious risks for people with disability.

The decision puts people with disability at significant risk of losing their access to vital nutrition support provided by dietitians. For many, dietitians are their nutrition anchor, ensuring they can eat and drink safely and sufficiently and live day to day with functional independence.

Dietitians are a core part of the disability support workforce, and this decision is out of step with the reality of delivering complex evidence-based care. Across the country, dietitians are already being forced to reduce their disability support caseloads, limit travel, and make difficult decisions about the sustainability of their disability services, particularly in rural and remote communities.

As a direct result of this decision, the foundational principles of choice and control for NDIS participants are now shaken to the core.

Dietitians Australia stands with Allied Health Professions Australia and the broader allied health sector in calling for urgent action to ensure pricing reflects the true cost of delivering supports and to sustain the disability allied health workforce into the future.
