Dietitians Australia welcomes the focus on aged care legislative reform by the Albanese Government on the first parliamentary sitting day for the new government. 

Released January 2022 - In the lead up to the 2022-23 Federal Budget, the Government seeks feedback from community, businesses and organisations about what should be included. Dietitians Australia highlighted 13 priorities for the 2022-23 Federal Budget. Focus areas included health policy, aged care, the Medicare Benefits Schedule, food-based dietary guidelines and rural healthcare.

Released July 2021- Dietitians Australia supports the recommendation of the Primary Health Reform Steering Group for the development of a Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan.

Released November 2021 - Dietitians Australia has offered feedback to the Australian Government's Primary Health Care 10 Year Plan. As the peak body for dietetics in Australia, we have offered several recommendations relating to dietetics for the draft plan.

Released November 2021 - The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need to offer healthcare through digital services including telehealth. Our submission is in response to the Digital Health Strategy consultation with recommendations on digital health services and dietetics.

Released August 2021 - Dietitians Australia has provided feedback to the Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Scheme regarding the NDIS Workforce with recommendations concerning dietitians working in the disability sector.

Released November 2021 - The Australian Capital Territory Primary Health Network (ACT PHN) has reviewed its previous Needs Assessments. Dietitians Australia has submitted feedback to the draft Needs Assessment as part of the community consultation.

Released 2017 - A joint statement of intent committing to equality in health status and life expectancy between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians by the year 2030.

Released November 2016 - Call for action to address food security for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Released March 2020 - It is the right of people with cognitive disability to have access to nutrition care that addresses their needs. Our submission highlights the barriers to nutrition care for people with cognitive disabilities and how to overcome them.
