With almost half of Australian children attending early childcare before the age of five, Dietitians Australia is today calling for a national guarantee they will be provided with safe and nutritious mealtimes while in care.

Released January 2023- Dietitians Australia welcomes the National Dementia Action Plan and commends the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care for including 7 objectives in support of the vision described.

Dietitians Australia is demanding the Government move immediately to mandate a requirement for every residential aged care home to have their menus and meals assessed by a dietitian on-site at least once a year.

Released September 2017 - Fitness services are often expected to also offer nutrition advice. This has created a need for balance between an appropriate level of nutrition advice to the client, without giving information beyond their professional scope of practice.

We call on aged care providers to engage Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) to review the quality of food, nutrition and the dining experience annually.
