We put forward 3 recommendations regarding changes to the definition of an NDIS provider

A statement from Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA) and the allied health peak associations, in response to the Australian Government’s new framework planning for the NDIS, scheduled to commence in July 2026.

Tens of thousands of Australians have joined a growing movement to oppose recent changes to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) pricing, with a community petition officially tabled in Parliament today by Senator Jordon Steele-John.

Released July 2025 - Dietitians Australia has responded to the NDIS Support Rules consultation. Dietitians Australia urges the Department of Social Services (DSS) and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to adopt our 12 recommendations.

The Australian Physiotherapy Association, Dietitians Australia, Australian Podiatry Association, Speech Pathology Australia, Occupational Therapy Australia, the Australian Psychological Society, Exercise & Sports Science Australia and Osteopathy Australia are calling on the Federal Government and the National Disability Insurance Agency to immediately halt and review the NDIS pricing decision which poses a direct threat to essential supports and choice for people with disability.

Dietitians Australia is deeply concerned by the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s (NDIS) recommendation to lower price limits for allied health services, including dietitians, warning that it will further reduce access to safe, essential nutrition care for people with disability.

Dietitians Australia is again calling on the Government and the NDIA to provide clarity and assurance that people with disability who require nutrition care for their functional needs will be guaranteed to receive it.

Speech Pathology Australia and Dietitians Australia call on the Commonwealth and State and Territory governments to show national leadership and urgently commit to clear, consistent implementation of Foundational Supports, which are due to commence on 1 July 2025.  

Dietitians Australia is urging the newly elected Government not to ignore the critical nutrition needs of NDIS participants and to urgently address the continual knockbacks of nutrition and dietetic therapy support within the scheme.
